This skipping rope is made from water resistant natural hemp rope with two bobbin handles. These bobbins were used for over 100 years in the production of under garments in a mill in Dalmarnock near Glasgow. If only they could talk...! They are made in Beech and Cherry with pewter ridging.

It is at least 100 years old having been a vital component in the cloth industry of the nineteenth and twentieth century across Britain. It held the thread in the spinning and weaving mills that were the first in world history to produce clothes on mechanical production lines.
