About us

Timber Treasures was founded in 1980 by David Gladden, who spent over four decades building a much-loved business from his workshop in Bristol. Starting as a one-person operation, David grew Timber Treasures into a respected source of handmade wooden gifts, developing relationships with skilled craftspeople across Bali, India, Morocco, Tunisia and Vietnam alongside producing pieces here in the UK from locally sourced timber.

In 2026, Timber Treasures became part of the Siesta Crafts family. Based in Canterbury, Kent, Siesta Crafts has been importing and selling Fair Trade handmade products since 1983, working directly with artisan producers across seven countries. The values that David built Timber Treasures on - quality craftsmanship, unique handmade products, and visiting and working together with makers - are ones we share completely.

We're excited to carry Timber Treasures forward, and to introduce its wonderful range of carved animals, pagan and gothic artefacts, and wooden homeware to an even wider audience.
