Wooden Christmas Gifts

Wooden things for the shelf, the mantelpiece and the tree. Carved mango wood Christmas trees from India in three sizes, their stepped silhouettes cut clean and finished dark so the grain still reads. Abstract angels carved in Raintree and Albizia, from a small one that sits in the palm up to a 40cm figure with wings sweeping wide.

For the tree itself there are hand-painted hangings from Bali at under a fiver: stars, crescent moons and hearts, each painted with folk flowers and available in four colourways. At the other end of the range sit the nativities, a carved and painted three-figure set alongside two Peruvian pieces, a hinged retablo and a cedar triptych that open to reveal the scene inside.

And then the Christmas ducks: Santa in a fleece-trimmed coat, an elf in candy-stripe legs, a reindeer with carved antlers, a snowman in a striped scarf, and an angel duckling with a gold star and a wire halo. All hand-carved and hand-painted, and solid enough to come back out of the box again next year.
