A Christmas tree cut from solid mango wood, its stepped silhouette sharp at the edges and warm in the grain, mounted on a square base. The dark finish brings out the figure in the wood. Made in India, where hand-carving decorative forms from mango is a well-established workshop trade. At this size it holds its own on a mantelpiece or as the anchor of a seasonal table arrangement, alongside candles or foliage.
