Collection: Wooden Ducks

Why choose a bamboo root duck?

Bamboo root ducks are carved from the dense, knotted base of the bamboo plant, the part most harvesters discard. Each root grows into a different shape, so every duck has its own stance and character. They are made in Bali and arrive in two distinct styles: natural, with the grain left bare, or hand-painted into a cast of characters including a pirate, punk, beekeeper, gardener, bride, groom, and various seasonal figures.

Sizes range from 9cm ducklings to birds standing 45cm tall on turned legs. Because each piece is carved by hand from a naturally irregular material, proportions and painted details vary. No two ducks are identical, even within the same design.
