A full-standing duck carved from bamboo root, neck long and bill tilted skyward, balanced on two separate turned legs and flat webbed feet. At 45cm tall it holds its own in a room. Made in Indonesia, where carvers work directly from the root's natural form, the stance, the lean, the angle of the head all come from the material rather than a template. The grain runs warm and close, smooth where the body curves, more open along the legs.
Stands well on a floor, a hearth or a garden room shelf. No two are the same.
