How do wooden smoking dragons work?

Each dragon is carved from a single block of wood and hollowed underneath to form a chamber. Light a Satya incense cone, blow out the flame so it smoulders, then lower the dragon over the top. Smoke drifts up through carved channels and out through the nostrils, creating the effect of the dragon breathing smoke.

The collection spans three sizes of smoking burner, plus four other dragon pieces: a seated figure with amber staining and a herringbone-cut spine, a miniature version of the same, a round wall plaque with a dragon pierced right through the disc, a matte black box with gold dragon on the lid, and a carved Raintree wood stool from northern Thailand with a dragon in deep relief and orange flames around it. All are carved by hand in Bali or northern Thailand and finished individually, so scale patterns and faces vary from one piece to the next.
