A wooden box finished in matte black, the lid painted with a coiling dragon in gold: scales picked out in detail, flames at the head and tail, the body looping across the full surface. Made in Indonesia, where this style of painted wood box is a long-standing workshop craft. The sides are plain black. Inside, the compartment is smooth and unlined, wide enough for a deck of cards, a set of jewellery or a small collection of objects.
Sits flat on a shelf or desk. The painted surface is hand-applied, so the line weight varies slightly between pieces.
