Desk calendars with no year on them, so they never expire. Wooden blocks and bars turn to set the date, and a carved figure sits on top: an owl painted black and covered in star-shaped flowers, a cat with its eyes shut, an elephant in dark stained wood, a scene of toadstools on an arched backboard.
