A duckling carved from bamboo root, neck stretched upward, standing on a small flat base. The carver reads the natural shape of the root before cutting, posture, tilt and proportion all follow what the material suggests. Made in Indonesia, where bamboo root carving has been a village craft for generations. Solid in the hand, warm in the grain. Sits well on a windowsill, shelf or beside a plant pot.
