A single duck carved from bamboo root and left entirely unvarnished: pale, open grain across the body, darker at the neck and beak where the root was denser. The texture is rough to the touch in places, smooth where the carver worked the curves. Made in Indonesia, following a long-established bamboo root carving tradition. Stands on a shelf or windowsill without demanding attention. The kind of piece that looks better the longer it sits somewhere.
Each duck is carved from a different section of root, so the grain pattern and stance vary between pieces.
