A bamboo root duck hand-painted as a groom: black tailcoat over the natural root body, a painted white bow tie at the collar, and a solid black top hat carved from the same root. The grain of the bamboo shows through where the paint is thin, giving the natural wood some presence alongside the formal dress. Made in Bali, Indonesia. Pairs with the Bride Duck. Stands at around 16cm.

Each one is carved from a different section of root, so the stance and grain vary between pieces.
