A larger hand-carved wooden dragon incense burner with a hollowed chamber underneath and carved channels running up through the nostrils. Light an incense cone, blow the flame out so it is gently smouldering, then set the dragon over the top and smoke curls from its nose as if the creature itself were breathing it.
- Hand-carved wooden incense burner in the form of a seated dragon
- Carved internal channels direct the smoke out through the nostrils
- For incense cones only. Not suitable for incense sticks
- Light the cone, blow the flame out, and only lower the dragon over it once it is smouldering
- Includes one pack of Satya scented incense cones (cone holder provided inside the pack)
- Dimensions: 14.5 × 14.5 × 6 cm (5.7 × 5.7 × 2.4 inches)
- Hand-finished, so no two pieces are exactly alike
How to use it
Stand an incense cone on the small holder supplied inside the Satya pack and light the tip. Let it catch, then blow the flame out so the cone is smouldering rather than burning. Only then lower the dragon over it. The rising smoke is funnelled up through carved channels in the nostrils, giving the convincing impression that the dragon is breathing it out.
Please note: these burners take cones only, never sticks, and the cone must be smouldering rather than alight before the dragon goes over it. Stand the burner on a heatproof surface and never leave burning incense unattended.
More Information
Each smoking dragon is carved by hand from a single block of wood and hollowed out underneath to form a chamber. This is the largest of our three smoking dragons, and the extra size gives the carver room to bring out detail: deeper scales down the back, more pronounced claws, a fully curled tail, and the most expressive face of the three. At 14.5 cm square it has real presence on a mantelpiece, hearth or sideboard, and the bigger chamber means a longer, more generous trail of smoke.
It makes an unusual gift for fantasy fans, incense enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates a piece of craftsmanship that actually does something.
