A medium-sized Raintree elephant, hand-carved in a village outside Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. The dense, close-grained wood takes on a warm golden-brown tone with darker passages where the grain shifts, and the carving is confident: a broad domed head, defined ears, and a trunk that hangs with some weight to it. Solid on a mantelpiece or bookshelf. The kind of piece that earns its place quietly.

Each elephant is carved and finished by hand, so grain, tone and form vary between pieces.
