Hand-painted wood owl figurine, front view, teal disc eyes and multicolour body bands

A blocky, upright owl carved from wood and painted in broad bands of teal, orange, green, red and navy. The face is flat and direct: two large disc eyes, a red beak, tufted ears. The paint is applied loosely, letting the grain and tool marks show through. Made in Indonesia, where this style of rustic painted carving is a long-running workshop tradition. Sits well on a shelf or mantelpiece at 16cm high.

Each piece is painted by hand and will vary slightly in colour and detail.
