Hand-carved djembe drum with deep reddish-brown stain and pale elephant motif carved into the wood, black cord lacing around goatskin head

A djembe turned and carved from a single piece of wood, the shell stained a deep reddish-brown with an elephant motif cut into the base, the natural pale wood left exposed against the darker ground. The head is goatskin, laced with black cord. At 30cm it delivers a fuller bass than the smaller versions while staying light enough to carry under one arm. Made in Indonesia. Each drum is carved individually, so the elephant detail and stain depth vary.
