Hand-carved wooden djembe drum with gecko motif carved into reddish-brown base, pale wood details, goatskin head laced with black cord

A djembe turned and carved from a single piece of wood, the shell stained deep reddish-brown with a gecko motif worked into the base, the body picked out in pale exposed wood, the striped texture of the skin cut in fine parallel lines. The head is goatskin, laced with black cord. At 30cm it gives a fuller bass response than the smaller versions while staying easy to carry. Made in Indonesia. Each drum is carved individually, so the gecko detail and stain depth vary.
