The largest of the range: a Raintree elephant carved in a village outside Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. The scale allows for more detail, a ribbed, deeply worked trunk, painted toenails, and a body that shifts from warm amber to near-black where the grain runs deep. Heavy in the hand and commanding on a shelf or floor. A piece that fills a corner without trying.
Each elephant is carved and finished by hand, so grain, tone and finish vary between pieces.
