A flat-lidded wooden box covered on every face with chisel-cut relief: diamonds set with small flowers, a border of arrow-notches at the lid edge, the whole surface stained dark to pull the carving into shadow. Made in Indonesia, where this style of geometric floral relief has been a workshop staple for generations. Inside, a removable divided tray sits above a deeper open compartment, rings and chains in the tray, longer pieces below. Brass toggle clasp on the front.
Each box is carved by hand, so the depth and spacing of the pattern varies slightly from piece to piece.
