An owl carved from Rain Tree wood, the body built up from overlapping feather scales cut cleanly into the grain. Dark-stained eyes, beak and feet contrast with the warm brown of the wood. Made near Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, where this style of carving has long been a local workshop trade. Solid enough to anchor a shelf, small enough to sit among books or plants.
Each piece is carved by hand, so grain, tone and character vary.
