A sleeping fox carved into solid Raintree, curled into a comma at the centre of the seat, ringed by leaves and a red poppy and picked out with hand-painted detail in orange, green and yellow. Made in northern Thailand, where this style of relief carving has been a village workshop trade for generations.
Heavy in the hand and low to the ground. The kind of small stool that ends up doing service as a side table, a plant stand, or somewhere to set a cup of tea.
Each one is carved and painted by hand, so no two come out quite the same.
