A small owl carved from Rain Tree wood, each feather picked out by hand with a knife. The dark-stained beak, talons and eye sockets sit against the warm honey grain of the wood. Made near Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, where relief carving of this kind has been a village trade for generations. Sits easily on a shelf, windowsill or desk. Solid in the hand for its size.
Each one is carved by hand, so the grain and tone vary from piece to piece.
