Turned from alternating strips of dark and pale wood, the contrast running in vertical bands around the bowl, with a carved spiral slot cut into the rim to feed yarn through cleanly as you work. The slot keeps tension consistent and the ball in place. Made in India, where turned woodware has a deep craft tradition. Substantial enough to stay put on a table, smooth enough not to snag fine fibres.
The striped pattern means each bowl comes out slightly differently as the grain shifts.
